PHOTOGRAPHY DESIGN GUIDELINES
Genuine people, real emotions.
Our brand is all about connecting with people. It’s therefore very important that our imagery feels genuine, warm and shows people on both sides of the Glance equation behaving naturally in realistic settings. Discover our available image libraries – and how we should aim to incorporate imagery into our branding.

All images should be professionally graded before use. The target is a bright neutral palette that looks natural and realistic.
We should preserve warmth in the skintones and bringing out hints of blue where possible to add brand-ownership to the imagery.
We should also maintain depth of contrast to reduce flatness of imagery without allowing shadows to become too heavy.
Framing
Using framing images alongside our primary color palette is a great way to align our brand with our photography.
Connections
We bring people together – and so should our imagery. There are various ways to use two (or more) images to create a connection and build a story between them.
People Natural Library
Photography should be bright, modern, relaxed and natural. Aim for natural, well-balanced light where possible. Avoid images that look too obviously stock library in style and seek out minimal rather than busy scenes
Try to avoid images featuring subjects in overly ‘corporate’ dress styles or environments. Subjects can look straight to camera but facial expressions must always look engaged and genuine. Subjects can be interacting with a device, but it’s not essential in every image.

People at home
Realistic home shots help identify us with the many users of Glance. It is important that these images are a genuine representation of the home environment.
Things to avoid
Avoid imagery where the subject looks forced or unnatural. Excessive facial and bodily expressions don’t feel candid or inviting.
Steer away from dark imagery (e.g. imagery shot at night or with poor lighting). This kind of imagery doesn’t feel positive and won’t suit the rest of the image library.
Find an actual office space, rather than a bland, stylised set up. Finding realistic and familiar office imagery is key to making the overall image library feel genuine.
Portraits with the subject looking to camera can be great but it must feel like a natural, engaged moment, rather than a forced and uncomfortable smile.
